Many people haven't any idea what Gordon Van Tine or Aladdin offered, but almost everyone who has a passing interest in old houses has heard of the "Sears kit home." Sears Homes were kit homes that were sold right out of the pages of the Sears Roebuck catalog in the early 1900s.
